AN annual summer quiz is this year raising money for Asthma UK.

The charity was chosen in memory of Carl Couzens, the 36-year-old from Hitchin who died earlier this year from a severe asthma attack.

He was an active football referee, badminton player and golfer who had suffered with asthma most of his life.

Carl was a friend of John Burlison who runs Quizzes for Charity.

There are 130 general knowledge questions, pictures and puzzles in the summer charity postal quiz.

It offers a £100 first prize together with lots of other prizes including spot prizes.

The closing date for answers to be returned is October 1 giving lots of time to find those more difficult answers.

Quizzes can be obtained by sending £7 (payable to Quizzes for Charity) to QfC, 196 Telford Avenue, Stevenage, Herts, SG2 0AU. They can be sent by email if an email address is given, otherwise an SAE would be appreciated. Information can be found on the website www.quizzesfor charity.com

The organisation is also holding a quiz night on Saturday, October 11, at Heathcote School in Stevenage. Details can be found on the website.
