Callum McFadzean has described how he almost lost a testicle in a training ground incident.
The winger, who was on loan at Stevenage before Christmas, has had to have surgery on his scrotum after a team-mate caught him in a tackle during a training session at parent club Sheffield United.
McFadzean revealed to the Scottish Sun how a surgeon had told him that the worst case scenario could see him have the testicle removed. But fortunately that wasn’t to be the case after surgeons were able to drain away blood and successfully stitch the wound back up.
The 21-year-old has had to pull out of Scotland U21s’ upcoming games with France and Northern Ireland. He has also been told that he will be freed by the Blades in the summer.
