McDONALD'S is to invest over half a million pounds in refurbishing its restaurants in North Herts.

Hitchin by far gets the lion's share of the investment programme with �500,000 being spent on remodelling their restaurant in Nightingale Road with between 10 and 20 new jobs being created when the work has been completed this year.

Around �50,000 is being invested in the McDonald's restaurant at Baldock Services where another five jobs will be created.
