Stevenage defender Curtis Obeng says ‘every point matters’ as Stevenage’s good run has put the club right in the mix in the fight for League 1 survival.

Boro go into Saturday’s home clash with MK Dons having extended their unbeaten run to six matches last weekend with a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Carlisle United.

That result means that Stevenage have taken 12 points from their last six matches – the best record of any team over that number of games in the lower half of the table.

Obeng, alongside fellow defender Bira Dembele, has still to taste defeat in a Boro shirt, with both players having made their debuts in the 1-0 win over Crewe Alexandra in the victory that heralded the start of the run.

Speaking about the need to keep the good form going, including at home to MK Dons this weekend, the man on loan from Swansea City told the Comet: “Every point counts... we’re doing well but we need to keep going.

“This is the business end of the season and it’s where it all matters. There’s a lot of teams that are going to be involved come the end of the season and to start a good run like the one we’re on at the moment has come at a good time. It’s important that we keep going.”
