Dorothy Utting with affection. A very sprightly lady, Dorothy lived in the village for many years until moving to Norfolk to be near her elder son two years ago, where the air is clearly beneficial. On Sunday, March 19 she celebrated her 100th birthday. I do not know whether Dorothy benefited from the Good Neighbour Scheme run by the Family of Churches, but many people do. 64 lifts were given in the last year alone. The popularity of the scheme means that volunteer drivers who can give a couple of hours occasionally are always welcome. If you think you might fit the bill, call Bill Osborne on 223735.
