A 23-year-old man has admitted being armed with an axe in a Letchworth street – and is to be sentenced by a crown court judge next month.
Ryan Davis, of Warren Close in Letchworth, was found with the axe and a kitchen knife – both legally considered offensive weapons – in the town’s Valley Road on January 21.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing an offensive weapon when he appeared before a district judge at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
District Judge Annabel Pilling committed Davis to Cambridge Crown Court for sentencing on April 7, bailing him in the meantime.
The conditions of his bail include a ban from entering Valley Road.
