A Stevenage man has been jailed after admitting having a kitchen knife with him in a public place.
Djemal Balkay, 35, from Greydells Road in the town, was found guilty of having the knife after a trial at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court in September and was sentenced at Hatfield Remand Court on Monday.
He was found to have possessed the knife in Weston Road, Stevenage, on June 20.
He also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court having been released on bail on September 25.
