A man has been taken to hospital with a serious head injury after a fight in a Stevenage takeaway during the early hours of yesterday morning.

The 26-year-old man was punched in the face at about 2.30am after an argument involving five men outside the Old Town Fish Bar in Stevenage High Street.

The man’s injuries have described by police as “serious” and following the fight he was taken to Lister Hospital in the town for treatment. He has since been released.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and have described the offender as a white man who was wearing a red T-shirt.
