A 20 year-old man has appeared in court charged with the theft of rings from a jewellers in Stevenage in Thursday lunchtime.
Octavian Dumitru, from Tylecroft Road, Croydon, pleaded guilty at Central Herts Magistrates Court in Hatfield on Friday where he was ordered to pay �1,500 compensation, costs of �85 and given a 12 month community order and also ordered to do 120 hours unpaid work.
Police are still looking for a second man involved in the incident that happened at John Lyons Jewellers in Westgate.
