A YOUNG man is fighting for his life in Lister Hospital after suffering serious head injuries in a suspicious incident.
It happened in Stevenage on Saturday night.
The 28-year-old from Stevenage was found lying in Primett Road near to the junction with Drapers Way, Old Town, between 11.45pm and midnight.
Police are keeping an open mind as to how the victim sustained his injuries and are appealing for information.
Dc Louise Warncken said: "This is a horrific incident which has left a young man fighting for his life.
"In order to establish exactly what happened prior to the incident, I would appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area at the time of the incident to come forward without delay."
