Man flashes teenage girl on Hitchin main road

A TEENAGE girl was left shaken after a man exposed himself to her on a main road yesterday (Wednesday).

The man exposed himself to the 16-year-old on Cambridge Road, Hitchin, just past the railway station.

It happened about 11.15am.

Pc Dave Vince, who is investigating, said: “This incident took place in broad daylight and it is possible there were passing motorists or pedestrians at the time that may have seen something.

“Although shaken up, thankfully the victim was not hurt.

“We take incidents such as this extremely seriously and I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this offence or who may recognise the description of the offender to contact me.”

The offender is described as an Asian male, aged between 18 and 25, 5ft 10ins tall and of chubby build.

He had short, black messy hair with full stubble which was nearly a beard. He was wearing a baggy grey top and dark blue jeans with light trainers.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to ring Pc Vince on the Herts non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number G1/12/2934.
