A man who was rescued from a a tower-block fire in Stevenage has died in hospital, police have today confirmed.
The fire broke out on the fifth floor of The Towers in Southgate on Monday, October 1.
Firefighters rescued the man from the blaze and he was cared for by paramedics at the scene, before being taken by land ambulance to Albany Lodge in St Albans.
A police spokeswoman told the Comet this evening: “We are now able to confirm that the man who was taken to hospital has sadly passed away.
“His family are aware and we are now in the process of submitting a file to the coroner.”
