A MOTORCYCLIST from Stevenage suffered fatal injuries in a road traffic collision yesterday (Sunday).

The 51-year-old was riding a Harley Davidson when he was in collision with a white car which failed to stop.

It happened just after the slip road onto the A10 northbound carriageway between Hoddesdon and Ware at 3.15pm.

The motorcyclist was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow where he died.

Jenny Solender, emergency medical technician who attended the incident, said: "A man who came off his bike sustained leg and pelvic injuries. He was treated and stabilised on the roadside before being taken to an awaiting trauma team at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

"I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to the friends of the motorcyclist and the motorists who stopped and helped out, it was very much appreciated."

Herts Police are appealing for any witnesses and the driver of the white car, which was the size of a Vauxhall Astra or Ford Escort, to contact them.

Inspector Phil Bloor from the road policing unit said: "The man was badly injured and we're appealing to anyone who saw it take place or saw the car drive off from the scene to get in touch.

"If you were the driver of the car involved I would appeal for you to get in touch with me."

Anyone with information should call Herts Police on 0845 3300222.
