Man charged in cemetery theft case

A man has been charged with theft after vehicles were broken into at a cemetery.

Philip Conner, 30, of Symonds Green Road, Stevenage was charged by Herts police investigating crimes which took place at Weston Road Cemetery in Stevenage on January 14. Two cars in the cemetery car park were smashed into and valuables stolen while relatives visited the graves of loved ones.

Connor is also charged with a further count of theft in relation to a vehicle targeted on the High Street on January 22.

He has been bailed to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on February 3.
