A man in his 60s has been bitten by a dog while on a morning walk along Letchworth’s Greenway with his retriever cross.

The incident happened at about 7.45am on Thursday in Wilbury Hills Road, near to The Wilbury pub – and police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A dog – described as a black, brown and white medium sized collie – ran up to the victim and bit him on the leg, causing bruising.

The owner of the collie has been described as a white man of medium build, aged in his late 40s to early 50s, balding and wearing shorts and a pink T-shirt.
