A man has been arrested today on suspicion of theft and possession of drugs in Hitchin.
An off-duty policeman saw a 28-year-old man acting suspiciously at a cashpoint near to Café Rouge on the High Street just after 7.30am this morning.
The 28-year-old, of no fixed address, then cycled away on a bike.
A short time later he was arrested near to Bancroft in the Sainburys car park.
A number of pills were taken from the man with a police spokesman confirmed they are to be tested in order to understand if they contain illegal substances.
The bike has been seized by police as it is believed to have been stolen, and officers are trying to reunite it with it’s rightful owner.
Is this your bike? Or does it belong to someone you know? If so call 101.
