A 27-year-old man from Stevenage has been arrested on suspicion of GBH after a teenager was allegedly beaten up in broad daylight on a garage forecourt.

The incident took place at about 6pm on Wednesday, July 27, on Shephall Way. A 19-year-old man from Stevenage was driving his red Vauxhall Corsa along the road when people in a blue Volkswagen Golf following behind him indicated for him to pull over.

He pulled onto the forecourt of Ken Brown Motors and approached one of the occupants of the Golf, who is said to have then beat him up.

A 27-year-old man from Stevenage, arrested on suspicion of GBH, has been released on police bail and is due back at Stevenage Police Station on September 12.

DC Karen Dewar, who is investigating, said: “The assault is alleged to have taken place at a very busy time of day so I am appealing to anyone who was in that area at the time and saw what happened, or any suspicious behaviour to get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from you if you saw the two cars prior to or after the incident.”
