A man wanted by police in connection with a stabbing in Hitchin has been arrested.

A man wanted by police in connection with a stabbing in Hitchin has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder – along with three others for lesser offences.

The 32-year-old man from Bromley was arrested yesterday on suspicion of attempted murder. He currently remains in police custody.

The stabbing, which took place at the junction of Fishponds Road and Bunyan Road around 2am on Saturday, October 22, saw a man in his 30s fight for his life. He is still in hospital having received life-changing injuries.

Three further people have also been arrested in connection with this investigation, including a 38-year-old man from Stevenage, a 35-year-old woman from Hitchin and a 26-year-old woman from Hitchin.

They were each arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and are also currently in police custody.
