A 32-year-old man was arrested on Saturday morning in connection with four acts of indecent exposures in Hitchin.

The latest indecent exposure took place on July 18 at 11pm when a woman was approached in Periwinkle Lane.

Two weeks earlier, on July 4, another woman was targeted between 10.30pm and 11pm while sitting in a bus stop in St Michael’s Road. A man was seen in the area again by the same woman on July 12, driving a blue Vauxhall Astra.

Two other late-night incidents were recorded by police, one in Nightingale Road in May and another in Bearton Road in April when a man struck up a conversation with a woman before exposing himself.

The man has been questioned on suspicion of sexual exposure and released on bail to return to a police station on September 20.
