Man arrested for drugs and drink driving offences

A MAN was arrested this morning (Thursday) on suspicion of drink driving and possessing drugs.

Police were first called to Arlesey Road in Ickleford near to Gerry’s Hole pond at about 7.30am after a member of the public raised concerns about two men in the area who had lit a fire.

When officers arrived one of the men – a 32-year-old from Hitchin – drove off in his car.

He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drink driving and possessing of a class C drug.

The man currently remains in custody at Stevenage Police Station.
