A 31-year-old man was arrested for drink driving after the vehicle he was driving collided with a barrier.
The incident happened outside the Londis shop London Road, Baldock, yesterday (Thursday).
A member of public alerted the police at 8.12pm.
The ambulance service were called to treat the driver and a female passenger.
The car, a silver Peugeot 207, had to be recovered and debris had to cleared off the road.
The man is currently in police custody.
In another incident a car collided with a wall on Beech Hill on the A505 yesterday (Thursday). The East of England Ambulance Service attended the scene.
