A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after his car collided with another vehicle.

Emergency services were called at around 9pm last night (Wednesday) after two cars collided, causing one to flip on its side, while travelling Southbound between junctions 10 for Stotfold and 9 for Letchworth Gate on the A1(M).

A man and a woman in the overturned red Peugeot 206 received treatment from the ambulance service for slight injuries, before being taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage.

The man driving the blue Volkswagen Passat did not require hospital treatment.

One lane was closed on the Southbound carriageway until the vehicles were recovered at around 10.30pm.
