Knebworth driver arrested after roadside drugs test in Stevenage

A 19-year-old man from Knebworth has been arrested after a roadside drugs test in Stevenage during the early hours of Monday morning.

The man was tested for both cannabis and cocaine after the vehicle was stopped at Lonsdale Road petrol station in Stevenage at around 2am.

Officers then searched the car and found a quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs.

Both the driver and his passenger – a 19-year-old woman from Stevenage – were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. The driver was also arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of cocaine and cannabis.

Both have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
