A man has been arrested following an alleged dog attack today (Tuesday).

Police were called to Shephalbury Park in Stevenage, near to Kimbolton Crescent, at 10.20am after reports of a loose Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross dog attacking another dog – one of three being walked by women. It later died.

A woman was also bitten on the stomach by the dog – which has been seized by police.

An 34-year-old man from Stevenage has been arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control and has been bailed until March 24.
