A man was airlifted to hospital from Letchworth yesterday evening with severe burns to his upper body.
The ambulance service was called shortly before 7pm and sent a rapid response vehicle, and ambulance crew and officer and the East Anglian Air Ambulance to Common View.
The man, described as in his 40s, was said by a spokesman to have ‘quite substantial burns to his upper body’.
He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to the burns unit at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford for further treatment.
