A man accused of blackmail and fraud involving more than £55,000 has appeared in court.
Kian Esmizadeh appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Monday charged with defrauding £55,363 in unsecured loans in Knebworth between September 25 last year and May 30.
The 24-year-old, of Grenadier Close in Bedford, is also accused of blackmailing his victim to extort the money.
The case has been adjourned for a plea and case management hearing at the court on January 19 next year and for a trial to start on March 2.
He has been bailed until then.
