A MAN accused of murdering a kitchen salesman whose body was cut up and parts scattering in two counties today (Friday) changed his plea to guilty.

Police launched a major inquiry after a left leg was found in a holdall dumped by the side of the Baldock to Cottered road on March 22 last year.

Over the following weeks other parts were found elsewhere in Hertfordshire and a head was discovered in Leicestershire.

They were found to belong to Jeffrey Howe, 49, of Southgate, north London.

Stephen Marshall, 38, of Borehamwood, admitted dismembering Mr Howe and disposing of his body parts but denied murdering him.

However, in the third week of his trial at St Albans Crown Court he changed his plea today to guilty. He has also admitted two counts of perverting the course of justice and one of obstructing a coroner in the execution of his duty.

Sarah Bush, 21, of Southgate, denies all charges against her, including murdering Mr Howe.
