A year ago, Stephen Glynn watched the London Marathon from the comfort of his living room.

This year, he'll be breathlessly rubbing shoulders with the runners.

Stephen, of Rye Gardens, Baldock, decided while watching the marathon on TV that he would take on the challenge to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

He has set himself an ambitious target time of three-and-a-half hours. His only other running experience is the 14km City to Surf Fun Run in Sydney, Australia.

The Sydney to Bondi Beach route whetted his appetite, inspiring him to try the London marathon.

The 35-year-old undertakes the 26.2 mile route hoping to raise at least £1,200.
