John McBurney, 41, Regent Street, Stotfold, has completed 40 marathons, 25 ultra marathon and 15 triathlons over 13 years.

The data manager raised £750 for Stotfold Scouts when he ran the London Marathon in 2012 dressed as a Red Devil and is hoping for a repeat this year, albeit in a different costume.

He said: “I got a great reaction last time I ran the race dressed as a devil so I thought I’d repeat the feat, just in a different costume, this time.

“In 2012 I went for a fast time and ran it in just under three hours but I’m planning on carrying a collection bucket round with me this next week so I’m just aiming to finish and raise money for charity.

“I really enjoy running, dressing up and doing something for a good cause so this running the marathon in this way is ideal for me really.”
