A sports therapist is running the Virgin London Marathon in memory of his cousin – aid worker Karen Woo.
Chris Tillbrook, who works at the Stevenage Leisure Centre, has so far raised nearly £300 for the Karen Woo Foundation, a charity that aims to improve healthcare provisions in Afghanistan.
Karen was killed by the taliban while working as a doctor in Afghanistan in 2011.
Chris said: “I couldn’t think of a more worthy and personal cause to run for than the charity set up in memory of my cousin and the great work she did. “The charity was set up by our family and her friends to help to continue her work and what she believed in. Running a marathon for me was something I always wanted to do and will be one of my greatest achievements.”
