A HITCHIN musician appeared alongside Rowan Atkinson in the Olympic Opening Ceremony’s Chariots of Fire comedy sketch.
Iain Farrington, who was a former organ scholar at St Mary’s Church, played the piano in the sketch alongside the Mr Bean star and the London Symphony Orchestra.
The cameras showed Atkinson’s character pulling faces and glaring at the musician for having a harder piece to play.
Mr Farrington, a pianist, organist, composer and arranger, has risen through the ranks since studying at the Royal Academy of Music and Cambridge University.
