A man shot by a gang on Wednesday in Lilley has been named.
He is Mick Furey, a 43-year-old builder who has lived in the village for a number of years.
Mr Furey was being treated at The Royal London Hospital where he had an operation to remove the bullet yesterday. He was released last night.
He was attacked by masked men shortly before 3pm at his home on Rueley Dell Road in what police are calling a targeted attack.
The gang of three or four men then made off in a silver car towards Hexton.
Police will search the house again today for evidence.
