CLEAR crisp weather at the weekend gave firework fans the perfect conditions to head out to a display.
There were events all across Comet Country, the largest of which was held at Fairlands Valley Park in Stevenage.
Themed around the 60th anniversary of Stevenage becoming a new town, the event attracted 8,000 spectators including mayor Simon Speller, who led the countdown at the start.
The magical display culminated in a giant silver Stevenage with a gold 60 either side suspended in the air, to the delight of the gathered crowds. Cllr Speller said: "It was a special honour to introduce the Fairlands Valley firework display this year as the grand finale focused on 60 years of new town Stevenage.
"I've had lots of comments from families who had a really good time and thought it was a fantastic display.
