CCTV footage has been released after several windows were smashed at Letchworth Police Station during the early hours of Saturday morning.

During the incident, which occurred shortly before 1am, several ground floor windows were smashed at the station in Nevells Road while police were out on patrol.

PC Matt Hopkins said: “This senseless act of vandalism will now cost the taxpayer hundreds of pounds to repair the damage.

“I am appealing for anyone who thinks they may know the identity of the person in the footage to please come forward. I appreciate you cannot see their face but the clothing is very distinctive and someone may recognise them.”
