Craig Worley, who works as a personal trainer at Pride Fitness in Letchworth, and his wife Danni lost their twin boys, Ethan and Isaac, due to spontaneous labour at 21 weeks of pregnancy on August 22, 2010.

Since then the couple have been hit by a series of miscarriages, but Craig, along with Seb Hensman who also works at the Spirella Building gym, is determined to help others get through the pain.

On Sunday, August 23, the pair will be cycling from Sandy, where Craig lives, and taking on a marathon which takes in Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Letchworth – at the 125-mile mark – before heading home.

They are doing it to raise money for Tommy’s, a charity which funds research into pregnancy problems and provides information to parents.

Craig, 30, said: “Training hasn’t been the best as one member of the ride has had to drop out because of a ligament tear and I am currently riding with a knee ligament tear of his own.

“But the pain and discomfort will all be worth it when we hit our target of £1,000.

“The day we lost Ethan and Isaac, our lives changed forever and our family will always be missing two little angels.

“Our heartbreak doesn’t stop there as all together we have had 10 miscarriages.

“Therefore, we want to raise as much money for Tommy’s as we can, so that they can fund research into stopping other families going through the same heartbreaking experience, time and again.

“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by miscarriage and most of the time people don’t like to talk about it and the subject is taboo.

“We live in a country where the amount of miscarriages is astonishing. Please help us raise money to help bring this number down.

“If we help Tommy’s save just one baby, then all those miles and soreness will be worth it.”
