Now that the weather is finally warming up a council is opening their paddling pools for the May bank holiday today (Saturday).

The 120 metre paddling pool at the centre of Letchworth’s Howard Park will be filled and the water jets are already operational.

venue Park’s interactive splashpad, which comes complete with a water tunnel, cannons and arches and cascading buckets, is now open in Baldock. Hitchin and Letchworth’s outdoor swimming pools will be opening for summer on the late May bank holiday weekend.

Vaughan Watson, NHDC’s Head of Leisure and Environmental Services said: “We currently have two fantastic free outdoor water features available in North Herts, which are hugely popular destinations for families and children during the school holidays.

“They are a valuable asset to the local communities in Letchworth and Baldock and there is no doubt that they will be extremely popular places to visit again this year.”
