A MAN who pleaded guilty of theft from the bookies he worked at has been sentenced.

Lee Curry, of Western Way, Letchworth GC, was given an eight month sentence, suspended for two years, last Tuesday after stealing �1,230 from Coral bookmakers in Royston, sometime between Wednesday, September 8, and Tuesday, October 12.

The 25-year-old was told by Cambridge Crown Court that he must carry out 180 hours of unpaid work and undergo education, training and employment requirements. He also has been ordered to pay �150 in prosecution costs.
