A man from Letchworth who allegedly hit a psychiatrist at Stevenage’s Lister Hospital with a hammer has been charged with GBH.
Christopher Battison, of Rundells, is accused of assaulting the doctor – who suffered minor injuries – in the hospital at about 2pm on December 30.
The 40-year-old was arrested the same day. He has been remanded in custody by Hatfield magistrates and is set to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on January 30.
