Letchworth man charged after Tesco Express robbery

A 55-year-old Letchworth man has been charged in connection with a robbery at a Tesco Express in the town when a man entered the store with a baseball bat and stole money from the till.

Gary Richardson, who lives in Saxon Close, was charged with robbery on Thursday last week, a month after police were called to investigate the crime at the Middlefields store on Monday, November 9.

Mr Richardson has been granted bail and has been told to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 4.
