A man has been arrested on suspicion of ABH after a fight at Letchworth’s branch of Jobcentre Plus.
Police were called at 2.03pm to reports of a “physical altercation” at the Jobcentre in Station Road.
A row of police cars lined up outside the branch, with a witness describing “a guy being held face down”.
A 30-year-old man from Harlow was arrested at the scene on suspicion of ABH and remains in police custody.
The fight follows an alleged cashpoint robbery in Letchworth this morning that prompted an intense manhunt at the railway station involving armed officers, a police helicopter and the dog unit.
Officers are still at the scene, searching for the suspect in the area around the tracks.
