A Letchworth teenager has been given a grant to pursue his dream of becoming the best percussion player in the UK.

The Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation has given Morgan Simpson, right, a grant of £1,000 towards the cost of his travel to London performing arts college, the Brit School which boasts Adele and Jessie J as former students.

The 17-year-old, who started drumming when he was two, said: “It’s really exciting at the Brit School, meeting new people who are all interested in music.

“We have to create set lists and put on performances in groups, and learn how to rig microphones, and we have speakers from every part of the industry.

“The grant has helped me to get there to do all this and I’m really grateful for the support.”
