Models have been busy wearing shoes called Honey Wedge for a world famous fashion house Julian Hakes – which were created by a 3D printer by Ogle Models and Prototypes, in Birds Hill.
The design company, specialising in 3D printing and rapid prototyping, used the latest technology to produce a solution when Julian Hakes required 12 pairs of shoes urgently for the recent London Fashion Week.
Julian said: “Most footwear designers sample and prototype in European size 37 but for London Fashion week collections we often use a size 40.
“This meant we needed specialist equipment to create 12 pairs of shoes quickly – so turned to Ogle, knowing their 3D printing machines could provide the solution.
“We sent the file over on a Friday and by Monday we received 12 pairs of beautiful 3D printed outsoles ready for assembly.”
