Residents at a Letchworth care home were well and truly in the Christmas spirit last Wednesday, as they took a festive trip to Frosts Garden Centre in Willington.
The magical day – which was organised by staff at Garden City Court care home – saw residents visit the Bedfordshire centre’s Christmas displays, Santa’s Grotto, live reindeer and enjoy a mince pie and a cooked meal.
Home manager Cristian Hututui said: “It is really lovely to see our residents getting excited for Christmas, it can be an emotional time of the year for some reminiscing about ‘when the children were young’ or thinking about that special person that may no longer be with them, but the staff here work incredibly hard to ensure nobody feels lonely or secluded, not only at Christmas but throughout the year.
The residents were whisked away to the garden centre in five limousines and also enjoyed a singalong with Santa’s elves.
