A packed bill of 10 bands gave their services for free at a pub’s fundraising music festival.

Gary and Marion Henderson and Roger Banks of Isis Records joined forces with Abbey Payne and Mark Fossey of The Golden Lion in Clifton to stage the event, which raised funds for Cancer Research UK.

The bands were in action from noon until late at last month’s festival, with a bouncy castle, a barbecue and a raffle with prizes donated from the local community helping make the day swing.

Marion said: “We would like to say a special thanks to Roger for donating the PA system and posters and helping getting the bands together, together with Andy Cannon and Production Plus Ltd for the lighting system and Scotty and Welches Transport Henlow for providing the trailer for the stage.

“The bands that played for free – Spacegoat, Rickshaw, Ollie & Will, Indi Forde, Pirate Radio, Chelsi Horton Band, Mike Parker Trio, Two And A Half Men, Luisa Dolente and High Treason – and Mark, Abbey and all the staff at the Golden Lion also deserve a vote of thanks, as well as all the helpers on the day who helped us raise raise £2,780.60.”
