BORO expect Lawrie Wilson to be back in action for the reserves next week after seven months out of action since breaking his leg and dislocating his ankle against Rushden & Diamonds in August.

Speaking in the Boro programme for Tuesday's 1-0 win over Histon club physio Paul Dando said: "Lawrie is scheduled to make his long awaited return for the reserves next Wednesday at home to Ipswich and I urge as many of you as possible to come and offer your support, which I am sure he will appreciate.

"He has resumed training over the last three weeks, participating in all ball activities and some contact work plus additional running and one-to-one contact.

"We took a close look at his stride pattern via videotape last week and he is now displaying relatively good, symmetrical technique which is hugely positive and important at this point."

Dando also said Lee Boylan was missing from the win over Histon after he had injured his elbow against Barrow.

"Biz suffered an elbow injury against Barrow following a collision with an opposing player. Initial x-rays were clear but he suffered stress damage to the ulna collateral ligament, not an injury you see very often particularly with outfield players but surprisingly restrictive considering the role the arms play in running, jumping and stabilising the body in contact situations.

"Having said that I expect him to be in contention against for the Grays game in a week's time, all being well.
