A lane was blocked on the A1(M) southbound near Stevenage this morning after a three-car crash that briefly saw all traffic held.

The crash, near Junction 7 for Stevenage, happened at about 6.30am – and traffic was slow on the stretch coming up to it for about two hours as the outside lane was blocked.

There was also heavy traffic on the A602 coming onto the motorway at Junction 7 following the crash, which involved a grey Vauxhall Astra, a white Peugeot Boxer panel van and a blue Peugeot 207.

Police told the Comet that nobody was injured.
