Full marks to Fearnhill School for taking a class on a study tour of the world's first Garden City. Split into four groups the children from 8G and teachers had prepared questionnaires in advance to ask the public - the questions centred on why they had come to the town, what they like and what could be improved. The respondents apparently were generally very positive about the town and Megan Jenkins from 8G said in the school's newsletter, All in all, we realised how our Garden City makes a real impact on people and how we need to keep it that way. Getting the youngsters involved in the ownership of their town early on in their lives can only be a real positive for the town's future. I like children, but I couldn't eat a whole one! Reminds me of the teaching saying to one pupil, You are not paying attention to me. Are you having trouble hearing? - Pupils - No, teacher, I am having trouble listening!
