A MAN was threatened with a knife and robbed while walking in a park yesterday afternoon (Monday).
The victim was walking through Norton Common in Letchworth GC at about 1pm when he was approached by a man carrying a flick knife who demanded money and a mobile phone.
The offender took the man’s mobile phone, cash and his wedding ring before making off via Icknield Way.
The robber is described as white, around 6ft tall and was unshaven. He was wearing a distinctive green knee length trench coat.
Detectives have now launched an appeal and are asking for witnesses to come forward.
DC Simon Goodship, investigating, said: “This was a nasty incident which has left the victim shocked. I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may recognise the description of the man to come forward and speak to us immediately.”
