ANGRY parents who lost money when a kids activity centre closed down suddenly have been offered another option.

When Castaway Kids, based at the Roaring Meg retail park in Stevenage, shut down overnight children's parties had to be cancelled.

Parents lost hundreds of pounds that the company had taken only weeks earlier and were unable to contact it for a refund.

But Raring2go, a guide of local kids activities, used its contacts to find an alternative venue.

And Kids World in Bedford has said it would take over the party bookings for free where possible.

Chrissie Saunders of Raring2go said: "We were thrilled with the response. Kids World agreed to take on bookings that have already been paid for for no additional cost.

"Where parents have paid a deposit they will honour that too and only charge the additional cost."

As long as parents have proof of the money they have paid, Kids World will just charge the difference.

Kids World manager Maria Varricchio said "When Chrissie told us about how parents were out of pocket and children were being let down we were happy to step in.

"We promise to give the children a party to remember!"

Parents can contact Kids World on 01234 326309 on Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays for full details and to make arrangements.

Hollywood Bowl in Stevenage has also offered kids that had their parties cancelled a free game of bowling.
