As I said, it's a happening week in Knebworth, my home town. On Sunday, September 10, the young get their chance to celebrate the return to school by playing tennis. Junior tournament day offers a chance not only to play matches, win prizes and enjoy refreshments, but also to climb a ladder. Apart from something you prop against a wall or other reasonably safe surface when you want to get higher than you are currently, I am not entirely sure what a ladder is, but junior tennis players can put their name down for it.
